Jetzt gibt's hier im Blog noch 'ne kleine Reihe an Posts, die ich im Mai schon veröffentlichen wollte.

Ich war ja am 26.4. mit dem Film zum Projekt #tofacetransvoice beim Dortmunder Kurzfilm-Festival der Partnerstädte dabei. Im 10-minütigen Film beschreiben der Dichter Dalton Harrison @daltonjayharrison79 und ich, wie es zu unserem gemeinsamen Kunst/Lyrik-Projekt kam. Der Film wurde im vergangenen Jahr in Leeds, UK von Dawn Kilner @dawnkilner aufgenommen.

Beim Festival wurden 9 Filme aus Dortmund und Dortmunds Partnerstädten gezeigt. 3 Filme kamen aus Dortmund, 5 aus Leeds/UK und 1 aus Xi'an/China. Die Filme waren alle sehr unterschiedlich. Das fand ich zum Anschauen sehr angenehm. Ein wenig schade finde ich es, dass nur Filme aus 2 der insgesamt 11 Partnerstädte gezeigt wurden. Das lag aber sicherlich daran, dass das Festival wegen der Dortmunder Haushaltssperre ziemlich kurzfristig auf die Beine gestellt wurde und die Bewerbungsphase dadurch ziemlich kurz war.

Am Ende des Festivals konnten die Zuschauenden darüber abstimmen, welcher Film ihnen am besten gefallen hat. Hier die Ergebnisse:

1. Our Neighbour's Ass von Max Goldberg (Leeds)

2. I am Glitching von Salma Para (Dortmund)

3. Nichtschwimmer von Sascha Reimann (Dortmund) & Terminal von Sunny Bahia (Leeds)

Dann war ich auch noch kurz auf der Bühne und habe ein paar Fragen zu unserem Projekt #tofacetransvoice und zur Entstehung des Films beantwortet. Zuletzt durfte ein Foto mit Dirk Polte, der das Festival mit auf die Beine gestellt hat, vor dem Dortmunder U nicht fehlen. Danke lieber Dirk! Super Veranstaltung!

On April 26, I took part in the Sister Cities Film Festival Dortmund with the film about the #tofacetransvoice project. In the 10-minute film, poet Dalton Harrison (@daltonjayharrison79) and I talk about how our collaborative art and poetry project came about. The film was shot last year in Leeds, UK, by Dawn Kilner (@dawnkilner).

A total of nine films from Dortmund and its partner cities were screened at the festival: three from Dortmund, five from Leeds (UK), and one from Xi’an (China). All of the films were very different from one another, which made them particularly enjoyable to watch. It was a little disappointing that films from only two of Dortmund’s eleven partner cities were represented. However, this was likely due to the fact that the festival had to be organized at very short notice because of Dortmund’s municipal budget restrictions, which also meant that the submission period was quite short.

At the end of the festival, audience members were able to vote for their favorite film. The results were:

  1. Our Neighbour’s Ass by Max Goldberg (Leeds)
  2. I Am Glitching by Salma Para (Dortmund)
  3. Nichtschwimmer by Sascha Reimann (Dortmund) and Terminal by Sunny Bahia (Leeds) (tie)

I also had the opportunity to spend a few minutes on stage answering questions about the #tofacetransvoice project and the making of the film.
